she's gone

Our cat has gone to the great litter box in the sky. I left work at 11 to take her to the vet to put her down, but nature had already taken care of it. I placed her in a shoebox with some towels and a couple of flowers. Little Skid was pet-sitting at a neighbor's, but came home to say goodbye. She didn't stay for the burial. She admitted that she would cry if she stayed. I buried her in our "pet cemetary", where we also have my wife's dog who died about 5 years ago, some of the animals the other cat brought into the house that later died, and my daughter's first hamster that was killed by the other cat. (My daughter doesn't know her first hamster died. Luckily, all albino dwarf hamsters look alike!)
She was a quiet cat and not a lot of trouble (unlike the remaining cat!). My wife got her from the vet while taking my puppy for a round of shots almost 15 years ago. The vet said she rescued the cat from her neighborhood and knew my wife would take care of it. The wife neglected to tell me until I got home from work. She was a good cat. I'm not sure how the house will be without her, since she stayed hidden most of the time anyway. Thanks to all of you for your help in making my decision as well as your thoughts and prayers.

dontjudgeme - you really need to stay off of sites like this... no compassion and a warped since of humor don't help on this blog.
