i received this from a black friend of mine that i think may have hit her whole address book and mailed it to me. my responce was that i didn't care if woman,man,black,white, or green as long as they knew what they were doing.
i was just surprised by it and wanted to share. it has in NO WAY TO START ANYTHING OR AGAINST ANYONE!!! please no fussing and be nice. i will say that if this is being passed around as much as i think it is-people are missing what the vote is actually for.
Because He's Black!
This older white guy asked his older black friend, 'Are you voting for Barack Obama just because he's black?'
So the older black guy fires back and says, 'Are you not voting for him because he's black? '
Why can't I vote for him just because he's black?
Hell, in this country men are pulled over everyday just because they're black, passed over for promotions just because they're black, considered to be criminals just cause they're black, but you don't seem to have a problem with that.
This country was built with the sweat and whip off the slaves' back, and now a descendent of those same slaves has a chance to lead the same country where we weren't even considered to be people.
A country where we weren't allowed to be educated, drink from the same water fountains, eat in the same restaurants, or even vote, so you darn right I'm going to vote for him!
But not just because he's black. But because he is hope, he is change, and he now allows me to understand when my grandson says he wants to be president when he grows up, it is not a fairy tale but a short term goal.
Now he sees, understands and knows he can achieve, withstand, and do anything just because he's black!
i also am not saying that i don't understand why they want to let their children see what they are able to do if they set their minds to it but, white or black, they already have people of influence to show them the way. voting for someone because of race is to me, the wrong way to do it!!!
