Published Jul. 23, 2008... I just do not understand why WRAL is going to carry Nancy Cooper's funeral service. This just simply does not make any sense. What happened to her was terrible but it happens every time we turn around it seems. Just a few days later another woman was found dead in some woods near her vehicle. That story didn't seem to get near the same amount of press, but I know I am not the first person to notice that.
The bottom line is I do not understand what made anyone think this was necessary. A funeral is a time for friends and family to say goodbye to their loved ones, not a reality show.

Although, in WRAL's defense, they wouldn't be showing it if the public didn't have an appetite for it. Just look at the huge responses and wild speculation that's gone on ever since the beginning of this whole thing - people are obsessed with it and many have appointed themselves judge, jury, executioner, and chief mourner. It's pretty pathetic.
