Wednesday, January 09, 2008Manchurian Candidate?This just hit the newsstands in, of all places, Time magazine. BIG OBAMEDIA (they love him). The Democrat propoganda machine is in full swing. Joe Klein is heralding the coming of Obama as the Kenya's savior -- the man even Desmond Tutu is turning to, the only man on the planet that can usher a peace accord into Kenya. But here at Atlas we have been following Obama's questionable ties with ODM opposition tyrant Odinga.
Read Obama's statment (it follows). It's unnerving. He gives tacit support to Odinga's allegations of voter fraud - the impetus behind ongoing Odinga massacres.
OBAMA'S OTHER LIFE Time Magazine Joe Klein (Of course)
One of the more extraordinary stories of the Obama campaign has been playing out behind the scenes over the past week as the candidate has been working on a daily basis to try to calm things down in his father's homeland and his grandmother's home, Kenya, where a contested election has led to riots.
On January 1, two days before the Iowa caucuses, Obama left a message for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. According to Robert Gibbs, Obama's Communications Director, Rice called back "as we were driving from Sioux City to Council Bluffs on January 1. They talked about the situation and Rice asked Obama to tape a Voice of America message calling for calm." Obama taped the message on January 2, after a rally in Davenport, Iowa. He said, in part:
"Despite irregularities in the vote tabulation, now is not the time to throw that strong democracy away. Now is a time for President Kibaki, opposition leader Odinga, and all of Kenya’s leaders to call for calm, to come together, and to start a political process to address peacefully the controversies that divide them. Now is the time for this terrible violence to end.
Kenya’s long democratic journey has at times been difficult. But at critical moments, Kenyans have chosen unity and progress over division and disaster. The way forward is not through violence – it is through democracy, and the rule of law. To all of Kenya’s people, I ask you to renew Kenya’s democratic tradition, and to seek your dreams in peace."
On January 3, the day of the caucuses, he had a conversation with Bishop Desmond Tutu, who had flown to Nairobi to see if he could begin negotiations with the factions. In the days since his Iowa victory, Obama has had near-daily conversations with the U.S. Ambassador in Kenya or with opposition leader Raila Odinga. As of late this afternoon, before his rally in Rochester, N.H., Obama was trying to reach Kenyan President Kibaki.
Near daily conversations with Odinga but has not yet spoken with the Kenyan President?
I haven't been able to talk to Obama directly about this--he is sort of busy right now--but it does seem noteworthy that, in the midst of the most amazing week of his life, Barack Obama has found the time to do a some diplomatic scut-work. I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of this sort of thing if he wins the nomination and is elected President.
Well Mr. Klein I suspect a great many other things at play here. Over at US Vet here;
Odinga capitalized on Obama Jr's popularity by portraying Obama Jr's 2006 trip to Kenya as a personal endorsement for Odinga against the Kibaki government.
[...]
After Obama Jr's 2006 visit, Odinga supporters created T-shirts and posters with computer-altered images showing Obama Jr. and Kenyan presidential candidate Odinga standing side by side with arms around each other.
That caused one excited Kenyan blogger to write, "in 2009, we might see a Luo president in Kenya, a Luo president in the USA, and a Luo ambassador in Washington, D.C."
Odinga now claims he and Obama are cousins (BBC here.)
Look how beautifully and seamlessly this is playing out for Barack Hussein Obama. A man with little to no domestic experience and NO foreign policy experience swoops in to save the day in battle worn Kenya. His foreign policy resume fecund with the sobriquet "peacemaker". His partner in crime, Odinga, the violent, disturbing agitator with a brutal past has signed an agreement to usher sharia (Islamic law) into Kenya ( document here). The following is over at US veteran dispatch;
Sarah Obama, a devout Muslim, was quoted telling Obama Jr. "What your grandfather respected was strength. Discipline. This is also why he rejected the Christian religion, I think. For a brief time he converted [to Christianity], and even changed his name to Johnson. But he could not understand such ideas as mercy towards your enemies, or that this man Jesus could wash away a man's sins. To your grandfather, this was a foolish sentiment, something to comfort women. And so he converted to Islam-he thought its practices conformed more closely to his beliefs."
Obama Jr's grandfather, for whom he was given the middle name, Hussein, was "fiercely devoted to Islam." He had at least 3 wives: Helima, who had no children, Akuma who gave birth to Sarah Obama, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. and Auma Obama. The third wife was Sarah, who Obama Jr. refers to as his "grandmother." Sarah became the primary care giver for Senior after his mother, Akuma, left the family when her children were still young.
In an extraordinary turn of events the Obama/Odinga plot thickens. It appears this whole "spontaneous" election protest as led by Odinga has been "managed" and anticipated since about May of 2007. Enter Dick Morris. What was Dick Morris, a man long known to hate Hillary doing in Kenya back in May 2007?
What is unfolding in Kenya may be anarchy but it has also been choreographed long before the first ballot was cast. Beyond picking its name from the Ukraine’s Orange Revolution movement, the ODM election strategy was overseen by Dick Morris, the disgraced political strategist once investigated for tax evasion in the US, and who was alleged to have been instrumental in fomenting revolution in Ukraine and Mexico.
Presenting Morris in Nairobi late last year, Odinga announced that the American would serve as his chief campaign strategist. (read the whole thing at Open Democracy)
What is startling about [Morris's] trip to Kenya is the fact that it has been announced as pro-bono work even though Norris has left a previous engagement to take this one up. Is it reasonable to believe that he left paid employment in the USA to rush to Kenya to help in an electoral race? What is in this election for Dick Morris, or for whoever sent him? (More here)
Obama got hot as a Hillary adversary and true presidential contender as far back as a year ago when David Geffen and the velvet mafia in Hollywood came out for the boy wonder.
ABC News: Hillary's Hollywood Friends Switch Sides
..... hundreds of Hollywood's movers and shakers received an invitation that they may find hard to refuse. They've been invited to come meet Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic Party's new superstar. He already has the buzz, but can he bring home the prize? Content You're Invited ...
Movie moguls Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg want their Hollywood peers to join them at a Feb. 20 fundraiser the three are throwing for Obama.
For $2,300 a person and $4600 a couple, they can meet the candidate at a reception at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Those who commit to raising $46,000 (10 couples/20 tickets) for the evening will be invited to a private dinner at Geffen's Beverly Hills home.
The fundraiser represents a major slap for Obama's main competitor, Sen. Hillary Clinton, who has received financial support from all three moguls in the past. Spielberg, Geffen and Katzenberg, along with other employees of their entertainment company, Dreamworks SKG, have contributed $47,000 to Clinton since her 2000 New York Senate campaign.
It appears that Obama and Morris were helping Odinga shape the whole political process and formulate the public relations/diplomatic issues , for domestic political consumption and favor in the US to best position acceptance of what appears at best to be an entirely cynical attempt to subvert the elections and at worst, and quite likely, a coup attempt by Odinga.
Raila Odinga's worryingly secretive MoU with an obscure Islamic political grouping and the Kenyan public's realisation that the ODM's clamour for Majimboism was nothing but an attempt at divide and rule; the ODM was on the ropes, and taking a beating. Its ratings in the opinion polls slid below 50% and the message begun to ring clear that it did not after-all represent change but a return to an even more rapacious and corrupt government than has been experienced in the last 5 years. So it was no surprise that ODM decided to bring out the big guns, but oh what a gun to take out. (Kenyaimagine here)
A Jacksonian has a devastating article outing Odinga's Arab connections with ties to al qaeda. One of his commenter's left this;
Najib Balala (ODM Pentagon member), Raila Odinga and Arab connections. Here it is: Another Raila Odinga Arab connection is his close ODM (Kenyan Opposition party)member Najib Balala and the violence in Mombasa:
Najib Balala and the Arab money:
The Mvita MP made substantial personal money between 2003 and 2005 when he served as Minister for Sports and culture. During this period, informed sources say, Balala had some lucrative business dealings with prominent players in the oil rich Arab countries of Qatar, Oman and Yemen where he is reputed to have made close to US$ 2 million (about Kshs 140 Million).
Balala is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) the Kenyan opposition, headed by Raila Odinga. He hails from Mombasa, a town on the Kenyan Coastline where there have been violence. He is a Yemeni descendant. Balala speaks Arabic, Swahili and English.
During the time he was the Minister of Sports, a number of Kenyan runners defected to Arab countries. It is believed that he was behind it. Kenya refuses to take runner back.
Tues 13 Jan 2004 Qatar Offers to Build Sports Centre in Kenya
All Africa The government of Qatar will build an athletics stadium in Eldoret, it was announced yesterday. |
The article above appeared on allafrica.com, but is no longer available. Eldoret is another town that has been hit by violence, the burning of 50 women and children in the church.
Picture 1 (Najib Balala demonstrating in Mombasa)
This article appeared on Wall Street Journal after 2002 Mombasa terror attack. After the attack, the Government of Kenya shut down a number of Islamic NGOs (Non Profits) that were actually Islamic recruiting centers who were establishing Radical Islamic Schools especially in Mombasa.
Another picture of Najib Balala here.
Raila Odinga recently appeared on AlJazeera . The station openly support him.
Do you know that, his [Odinga's] Diaspora Luo supporters were the ones sending the news to US TV networks immediately after the violence in Kenya started. Their aim was to publicize the violence to gain sympathy. Rigging was happening in both ODM and PNU strongholds During the elections before the results came out, a PNU poll administrator in Luo Nyanza was killed by ODM supporters. six people were arrested.
Obama and Morris have been working to advance Odinga's position in Kenya, by attempting to garner support for him in the US, by casting this whole thing in terms that Americans would recognize and accept at face value, e.g., "Million Man March," "rainbow coalition," so on and so forth.
Morris and Obama have been working to advance the interests of a man who owes his wealth to Arab interests tied to al queda, have been working to advance the interests of a man who would deliver Kenya into the hands of the Sharia and of Islam.
Obama's bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government spokesman denounced Obama during his visit as Raila's "stooge." (more here.)
Odinga told the British Broadcasting Company Tuesday that Obama's late father is his maternal uncle, making them cousins. Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said Odinga and Obama's father are from the same Luo tribe, but he isn't aware that they are related. (more here.)
More from Open Democracy;
The 2005 constitutional review, which had been in abeyance for over a decade, provided a dress rehearsal for an ODM “people power” revolution. Its “Mt Kenya Mafia” sentiments were seen as a rebuttal against the conservative Kikuyu elite who had kept the country pretty much under their control. The ODM bigwigs followed a revolution manual where ethnicity was at the core of its propaganda machine. They were gearing up for the second phase of their propaganda war. This included whipping up ethnic animosities in which the Kikuyu were demonised, hiring pollsters to claim massive leads so as to demoralise and scuttle the rival vote while making constant claims of rigging to prepare the ground for rejecting the poll results if defeated.
Even in the referendum Odinga claimed a verdict in favour of the government would mean the contest had been rigged. In the event, the ODM won it resoundingly so claims of rigging did not arise. It was also seen as a vote-of-no confidence against the government, with Odinga temporarily asserting pressure on Kibaki to resign.
The rest of the script was played out after last week’s General Election. Rigging claims were used to the hilt by the ODM to plant seeds of doubt in their supporters to prepare them to reject an unfavourable outcome and foment unrest that would set in motion a “people power” revolution.
ODM supporters dramatised the rigging claims, killing three policemen deployed to administer the polls in Eldoret on the eve of Election Day. They were lynched by youths who claimed they had been sent by the government to prepare ground for rigging, as a vehicle belonging to the Electoral Commission of Kenya was torched.
Odinga himself would march to a city hotel on the same night to make similar claims of poll rigging accompanied by a partisan local media that must share the blame for the social conflagration that threatens the very future of their country.
Odinga supporters rejected the poll outcome even before it was announced, with Kibera residents, one of Africa’s largest slums and the stronghold of the opposition chief, going on the rampage, looting and killing those perceived to be supporters of Kibaki’s, who were seen as conspirators “stealing the election.”

Get a grip people, he is a racist Chicago politician with very low character and no morals. He does, however, have enormous ambition. Be careful what you wish for.
