...and a side of greens

So, she married this chef, see...?
After I left for work this morning, Sheba went to the fridge to see if there were some leftovers to take to work for her lunch. On a shelf she spotted a clear, plastic container with some dark green vegetables in it. She remembered that I had cooked some turnip greens the night before and decided that would be a good side dish with lunch today.
Lunchtime came and Sheba takes her lunch, including the greens, to the break room and nukes them. Opening the container, she detected a somewhat vinegary smell. She knows that I like to add vinegar to my greens, so she thought I must have put just a little too much in. No problem. She’d eat them anyway.
Taking her fork, she scoops up a big bite of the greens, pops them in her mouth and begins to chew.
I’m not sure exactly what happened next. But, ‘cry of the banshee’ comes to mind.
You see, I am the one at church who is constantly harping about people putting items in the fridge there and not dating or labeling them. And here at home, I almost never do that.
And what Sheba thought was leftover turnip greens was in reality about one cup of finely chopped, pickled, jalapeno peppers.
Maybe chefs should come equipped with warning labels.

Never mind the pepper spray - make a tea of those babies and take it along in a little purse/pocket-sized spritzer, or a spray vessel of a sort kept for the car... just in case.
Probably have to be careful that it didn't spill in the car, as I would worry that it would eat leather upholstery!
