they say absence makes the heart grow fonder

Published Jul. 21, 2008

Yeah, that's what they say. While that's true, my heart grows fonder each day, anyway, whether we're together or apart- and it's a wonderful feeling.

Hubby flying to Utah today, will be back home on Thursday, so I guess I'll have to shop to keep myself busy :)))  He usually has to leave us about twice a year- not too bad, it could be worse, could be lots more than twice.

Does anyone's spouse have to leave them for job related events/trips? Do you enjoy the time apart or dread it? Tell me, what do you do with your time?

P.S.- check out the pic, this is so neat to find this, cause hubby is actually headed to Ogden...

My husband travels alot. I'm actually too busy most of the time to really miss him. But I do. My biggest complaint in my marriage is that he's gone too much. It is nice to have control of the room temperature and the remote most of the time, though.

My wife and I both travel. When I am gone she messes up the house, when she is gone I clean the house. Something is wrong here . . .

When she is gone I pass the time by watching Spike TV, there are some funny shows on spike . . .

My hubby goes out of state for a week at a time 4 times a year, at his old job he went to Canada (that was the hardest because of the time differences), colorado, Texas- all for over a week at a time- The times I had a sitter and could go with were great... but the other times, I really missed him- I would pack little notes in his suitcase, 1 for each day he was gone, with an "I love you" and a little treat (usually a piece of chocolate or candy)

Me and my hubby live two hours apart. I moved away after our first year together...it's been torture ever since, but the job offer was too good to pass up and we are both still so young that I couldn't put my job on hold for a relationship that didn't come with a ring. But, I just found out today that I am moving home in two weeks. We'll be together again. I wish you the best of luck on your time apart. Just hold your head up high and think of him every second you can. I'm sure he'll be thinking of you too. :-)

Hey Ya Wife!!!

I have a conference each year and NM always takes off to go with me. We too haven't spent a night apart since we started living together.

{{hugs}} to help ya out those nights you miss him...

My boyfriend used to travel some on business, and it would be overseas, and I would miss him before I even got him to the airport. :)

He stays home now, but I've never found myself wishing he'd go travel. I like him nearby.

i do wish mine would travel some. i get home after everyone else so i never get me time unless i go to the gym for a workout session!!!

I would love to travel one or two times a month. I love to GO. But with air travel getting less and less friendly I'm sure I would tire of it quickly.

I've recently started traveling about one night a week. I miss my husband and my kids but it's bearable. Especially with cell phones, emails and myspace. I did have to spend a week away recently and when I got ready to go home, I called him to let him know I was headed home and would be there in about 5 to 6 hours..got his voicemail and I started bawling...he called me right back and I just boo hooed.I was sooo homesick. I am the same way when my kids are away for a few days. I am just so much a homebody!

"I'm an only child and need solitude to refresh and appreciate the many blessings I have."

I am not an only child, but I do appreciate being by myself. I am very independent...Sometimes my husband gets on my nerves and it helps to have time apart-absense ALWAYS makes the heart grow fonder...
