do we need this kind of teacher in our schools ? honest answers please.

Do we need a teacher teaching our children in school that will help a young girl leave home and talk her into cutting all contact from her family just so she can be with her son that is in trouble with te law all the time that she pays him out of.This girl come from a loveing home and showd a lot of love,provided for and cared for.She had a lot going for her with family standing behind her and supporting her this lady has never talked wth daughter parents .She has told people that it takes a christen woman to strighten a man out and this girl can do this because she is a chrsten.Please give me your thoughts on this.

Wow - I feel for ya. My daughter and I went through something similar recently. She got involved with a guy - he convinced her to drop out of school and move away with him... there was not much I could do - if I fought her, she'd be resentful and full of hate. So, I told her if she was determinied enough to go through with it, I wouldn't fight her, but I wouldn't help her either. Long story short, she's back home now - working and wants to go back to school. It could have been a worse situation than what it was. She knew I didn't approve of what she was doing at the time, but she also knew that I love her. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done - step back and let her make her own mistake.

I have just read this blog....i am sorry this is happening to you. I kinda did the same thingaround the same age as your daughter...the more my mom pleaded with me, the more I was trying to prove her wrong..however, after I realized i was the only one with a job and a car and was taken for granted over and over..I came back home....it was not easy for my family, because I quit talking to them for a time...however, they welcomed me home with open arms....and nothing was ever said about the situation..I was probably gone for about 3-4 months at the most...have faith dear and know that you and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers...

Patsy, I am sorry this is going on with you and your daughter. There really is nothing you can do to stop her if she is above 18 or close thereto. Trying to interfere would only make here more determined. This is one of those situations that we don't like but have to live with. She will be back when she grows up. Keeping you all in prayer. Glen

Godschild,

It is your job to raise your children correctly. If they stray, it is your job to inform them of the mistake they are making. If they continue to do what is wrong, it is your job to be there when they fail, which they will.

There is nothing more you can do.

Patsy, I would believe her. You may be able to get most of the tuition refunded if you withdraw her now. Save the money for a time when she's gotten tired of living this life. I hope that will be next semester.

Leave her be, Godschild. Bite your tongue until it bleeds, hold your breath until you turn blue, and let both your daughter and the boy's mother alone. Remember you spent 19 years teaching your daughter - give yourself credit for having done a good job and give her a chance to discover it. She may well have to go through some heavy - duty misery before she figures it out, but she'll do it faster if she doesn't have to deal with you in the process. The least said is the easiest mended so concentrate on being able to support her when she needs it. And... it's just possible that she may be right in the long run.
