Bullet656, What makes it worth it is to me simple this: So far there has not been another terror attack here.If we sit on a log and pretend 9 11 did not happen dosent make it so. It did happen!!! So if we do not rectify the cause and be proactive about intell. It will happen again.I guess it wont hit home to a lot of people until the horror of war happens here. When the first ied blows up someone or a person with a "vest" on blows himself or herself up downtown where ever. Then it will become our nightmare. Google terror networks in the americia. There is one in Raliegh and one in Charlotte. Wonder why?? I know why.

once you get past all the bull about why we went in, the fact is, we have a strategic interest in the area, we have a stretegic interest in seeing iraq get on it's feet and be able to sustain itself. Look at a map - see where Iraq is, see where Kuwait is, see the straight of hormuz and understand that a HUGE percentage of oil that come thru that straight fuels the economies, of NOT just the US, but every country in the world. If that area descends into total chaos, if Iran takes over iraq, Kuwait will be next. Iran controlling the economies of the world is a problem...can't ya'll see that? That's why it's imperative we leave at least a semi-stable Iraq, drill more of our own oil, develop more of our own resources, including coal, nuclear, solar, wind, hydro. Yes, the work they are doing is critical to the survival of this whole world, including the US. You evidently don't understand what economic collapse means, and thanks to the work of our troops, you probably never will.

"It's a really hard transition, coming back from blood, death, corruption to a wife and baby. You feel you don't know each other," Krystal added. "But if you have faith, you get through it."

The sacrifices they make are NOT all on the battlefield. I hope we can offer more support, as the article discusses.

I'm all for staying now that we messed things up. And it really looks like the surge worked. But how does that make it worth it? And those posts? I'm not trying to trash talk at all, but how does the fact that your husband hasn't hit you and you haven't had an affair make the war worth it? Or that people have sacrificed? Neither of those make sense to me.

tmed - why is this war imporant? Just asking what your feelings are.

Not dissing you - you may have a perspective that I don't, but I've sent a loved one off to war to, so gotta find another reason besides 'support our troops.' I do support our troops doing what they're told to do, but why is WHAT we are doing, and THE WAY WE ARE DOING IT, so important?

Is this war worth all this, really? Yes, it's incredibly important to us and our allies and we are thankful for our troops and their families, who make sacrifice, after sacrifice, and often wonder if people really care. Well, we showed quite a few this week down in Fayettevile, and they were ever so grateful, and so proud of what their husbands and dads are doing. After all, they get it!

Imho it is worth it. Alan and I have been married 20 years. With his job there were years of him being gone for 8 months of that year.Never once has he hit me or been abuisve. I on the other hand have never had a affair.I really think with three kids to tend to I was busy enough.I think what helps is to pray. I pray/prayed for Alan,John and Brians frame of mind. That God would protect them and keep them rooted and grounded.Whle Brian was in afghanistan he wrote on his turret Psalms 91.Not everyone is a christian I understand that. But I think it makes a difference. Our kids turned out well adjusted and respectfull. Just my 2 cents worth

and your point is????

Is this war worth all this, really?
