maybe someone knows what this is??
Published Jul. 19, 2008Yesterday I was driving on 70 near Brier Creek around lunch time and noticed what looked like a large plume of steam. Later when my husband and I went to Raleigh for dinner we noticed it again. It appears to be right off of 540 and 70 near the airport. It's obviously not a fire since the smoke is white. It reminds me of the cooling tower from Sharon Harris that you see from Jordan Lake. Just curious to see if I was the only one that had noticed this and wondered what it was. Warning...I am a blonde that dies her hair brown so to some this might be a stupid question. My husband calls me an imposter.

I was out that direction around lunch and noticed it too.
I didn’t have time to investigate, but it was white and looked like steam to me.
At that time, the sky was filled with white, puffy clouds. My partner suggested that maybe the new Western Wake County cloud generation station had come on-line ....
She’s a blond, too ....
