update on uncle
Published Jul. 19, 2008It was a long day at the waiting room yesterday, but all seems to be well. The surgeon talked to the family and said that the surgery went very well. He was able to fix both places. We had to leave before he was waking up, but we did hear that he woke and was able to move his arms and legs, knew his name and what was going on. I think that should mean that he didn't have a stroke during the procedure. They still say that the next two weeks are crucial and there are risks, but so far, everything is going better than expected.
The absolute best part was seeing the look on his kids' faces when the dr said the surgery went well. Of course, his wife, siblings and the rest of us were all very happy with the news as well. But his kids...they were just so VERY relieved and VERY VERY happy!
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It really means a LOT!
