slain mom's daughters in custody of grandparents, sister

Published Jul. 17, 2008

"Custody of Nancy Cooper's two daughters has been transferred from her husband to her parents and sister, Cary police announced Thursday. Police have still not named a suspect or person of interest in her murder."

Where are Brad's Parents?  These children don't know these people very well.  They live in Canada.  The children need to be with someone the know well.  Bard may be guilty but if he isn't those children need their dad right now.  And if he is his parents didn't have anything to do with it.  If the children know his parents better they should go to them.

"mogwai- You say the claims are unsubstantiated, but do you know that for certain??"

Yea. They went out of their way in the custody petition to stress that much of what they were alleging was information and belief. That's a complicated way of saying "as far as we know, it's true, but don't hold us to it."

In other words, they covered their behinds, he wasn't present to counter any of the claims they were making and the attorney they picked is a former family court judge well situated to select a friendly currently sitting judge to ram the complaint through the process.

mogwai- You say the claims are unsubstantiated, but do you know that for certain?? Do you also know for certain that none of her friends tried to get her away from her husband prior to her death?? It sounds really easy to do, but if she was a stay at home mom and he had the access to the money, what was she suppose to do?? He allegedly took the children's passports so she couldn't even go to her parents, who could've provided financially for them...

So, what was she suppose to do??

Exactly. Just as an aside, from what I can gather, virtually all of the information that is being provided thus far about this case is coming from unsubstantiated allegations made by her parents. People are taking that and running with it.

What I do find interesting is that, for people who are so overwhelmingly concerned and involved now, they don't seem to have done much to have gotten involved prior to her death.

I almost have to wonder if this course of action wasn't suggested by someone else interested in applying pressure to this man in order to obtain information.

Nobody has answered the question that started this blog. Where is Brad's parents and family? And what does Brad do for a living?

This is an opinion board, and people are giving their opinions. I the big picture of this case, what we say on here is inconsequential!

I just have an aversion to calling strangers by their names in situations like this. It implies, to me, an inappropriate intrusion into and familiarity with their lives.

Everybody seems to be reaching all sorts of unfounded conclusions about these people based on what they want them to be and how they have prejudged the case in their minds.

All I said, I repeat all, was that in my own opinion, it's a tad voyeuristic and paparazzish to be doing that sort of thing.

mogwai- Maybe you're thinking of a different blog about this subject....I just read over the comments here and we were giving opinions based on the facts that have been released to date on this case. I see no devestation from the comments that have been posted here.

Part of being a human involves putting yourself in someone else's place to imagine what they might be thinking or feeling in a situation such as this. This is not a "famous" person, but a regular person...so we all feel that maybe this could've been our neighbor, our sister, or ourselves....

I see no inappropriate "feelings" on this post.

I didn't TELL anybody to do or not to do anything. I gave my personal observation, i.e. my opinion, of their overdone emotional response to this information. Show a few pictures of strangers on the internet and suddenly everyone is falling over themselves ripping their garments a la yenta. If that bothers you personally, maybe it hit too close to home? Isn't really my concern either way, to be honest. I just say what I think.

Don't even bother with that innuendo garbage. This is the only ID I've ever had or ever intend to have.

1) Are you a GOLO monitor? Why do you think you have the right to tell others what they should or should not think, feel or say? 2) ROFL - I thought you left this board, didn't realize you were still here under a different ID.

1) It's not your sister or daughter though. It's, to be blunt, complete strangers you are viewing on a webpage and somehow feel that you have an attachment to. It's perfectly understandable that the people involved in this would be devastated. What I'm missing is why the rest of you are, or even feel that you should be.

2) I'll comment wherever, whenever and on whatever I please, thanks.
