Well, I am going to be on a forced break from golo for a bit… It may be a good thing – becoming a little too addicted. So anyway, my new job starts on Monday and I will be in Louisville training for 4 weeks. Probably won’t have too much time to check in on gololand. You all take care!

Any advice on flying? I am leaving RDU on a Sunday afternoon flight… It has been a long time since I have flown, and I have to catch a connecting flight in Charlotte. And yes, I have checked with the TSA website regarding what I can and can’t bring with me (carryon vs. checked baggage…) I need good practical advice…

For flying I always get coffee and trashy celeb magazines. It gives me something to focus on other then the only thing holding the plane up is air...

congrats on the new job!...everyone has given great advice about flying...just hope that your flight leaves on time so you don't miss your connecting flight...that is a nightmare!...lol!

Have a good time. Here's my advice: In the event of turbulence that seems a bit too rocky, press your feet into the floor with as much force as you can muster and hold on to the arms of the chair. It will make you feel like you are part of the plane as opposed to someone just flopping around in it. Calms my nerves every time. -Angela

Thankfully the hotel had laundry facilities - good, because I will be there for 4 weeks - and I do plan on bringing a change of clothes in my carry on... DJ I will be wearing a UNC t-shirt!

"The Accidental Tourist" author Ann Tyler, was raised in Raleigh, living on Poole Rd, just before you get to the river. That book is what the flying tips make me think of.

Tip - keep referring to all your cousins back in Harlin.

Thanks for all the advice... Unfortunately/fortunately my new employer made all the travel arrangements for me, so I had no choice in carriers and lay-overs, or the option to drive... But at least they are picking up the tab as well as rental car, hotel and food...

In Louisville, one more thing to do...go to the SPEED Art Museum.

Be sure to ask where the fast painting is taking place, and comment on how you like the fast chess games in the park.

Don't take any mess from Kentuckians...

One, their state abbreviation is KY -- a sexual lub/sex aid...

Two, introduce yourself as Colonel John Brown. That's big stuff up there.

Three, comment on how the grass is green and you want to see the bluegrass.

Four, after someone serves you drinks, comment that they must be from eastern Kentucky...
