which laptop brand should i pick?

since we all seem to be avid computer users...
I'm in the market for a new laptop. do you all have a favorite brand or model? I don't know whether to go high end so I know I'm buying a good product, or whether a cheaper one would be just as good. mostly, I use my computer for internet and email, sometimes for movies and photo editing.

What ever you get here is some things I would make sure it has: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2GB of Ram Vista Home Premium
Apple puts out a very good laptop more expensive but they do run well. It will take a little getting used to compared to Windows but I haven't met a person that didn't like their MAC
Shop around and look up reviews on Google
