school vouchers

Sen. McCain promises to promote school vouches during his address to the NAACP.
Personally, I'm for them. Education is a society issue, not a racial one.
Regardless of color, every parent SHOULD want the best possible education for their child. Sometimes vouchers could be a useful option.
I would have loved to been able to use a voucher to go to a private school growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. At that time, the Cleveland Public School System was one of the worst in the nation.
If education is an important issue of the NAACP, that's a good thing. Nothing could advance anyone more than a good education. This is one issue that I can agree with the NAACP. Schools in poorer neighborhoods many times do not perform as well as those in more affluent neighborhoods.
By investing more now in our children's education, we reap returns in a more employable society and a lower crime rate.
Don't make this a racial issue!
