very frustrating

Published Jul. 14, 2008

Why is it when we give a business the information they need, they still screw it up? I called verizon and discussed w/them the issue I was having with my brand new cell phone. While the tv indicated the people in the network would be there for me, they were not! ha! No signal. So, no big deal. Possibly the phone was defective and they will just send me a new one. I tell the gentleman on the phone THREE TIMES ship to my work address AND I gave him and had him verify the address to me. So, where do you think this is going?? Yes, that's right, my home!! I will not be able to sign for it, which is why it is supposed to be coming here to start with and when I called them to fix it, they could not.

I figured once it was shipped it was too late but its just very frustrating to give someone specific direction and still have them flub it up! ACK!!!

Ok, vent over. :-)

Well, my first phone was shipped to the office. This is a replacement b/c they think the first one isn't working properly. I told the fellow to send it to the office, gave him the address, he said sure. Voila, its coming to the house. I called the shipper and they say they cant' do it, verizon has to say to change it. I called verizon back, they say well, if they do it, it will be days and days before I get it b/c it will have to be recalled to them and resent. So, I'm just gonna take my chances on being home or go pick it up at the dang hub of the shipper.

Boy I hope this works or I'm really gonna be angry. ha!

LOL... TMed, talking about Sprint... I had to threaten to make a trip to TN several years ago, but my message was finally properly interpreted and the problem was resolved!

A thought for all of you (and not being ugly, because it has actually come to me before when considering "what-ifs")...

IF you EVER find yourself unable to do the job you do now, then remember that there is more than likely a CS job that you can get - and perform as well as the person in the cubicle next to you!

I think that breathing is the only job requirement for some of these people and companies.

My husband and I both have Net10 prepaid phones. I buy minutes online, it's so easy. There's no codes to enter in the phone. No contract, no monthly fees, works great for us! We've traveled to CT, PA and Florida and they work nearly everywhere.

Hope you can vent and move on,cause their is more to come where that came from.

first of all, if you're a new customer, their rules might not let a new customer ship to anywhere but home. I worked for alltel for 6 yrs and the fraud was getting so bad we refused to any new customer ship to anywhere but their home

"Try calling the shipping company. If you have a tracking number, sometimes they can edit the destination address for you."

I've had mine dropped at the door and it is there when I get home. If you think you are going to not be able to use your home for such, when you sign up make work your billing address. No matter what a CSrep says, sometimes the phone is going to the billing address come what may for obvious reasons.

I have phones with Nextel/Sprint, Alltel, and AT&T (formerly Cingular). I've gotten good service with all, except for a period when Sprint took over Nextel, but after a few months, it has been fine. I still can't decipher Nextel bills. With Nextel, be sure to have the repair insurance.

AT&T (cingular) I've had since the 90s, am pleased with original plan, with free incoming, less than $45 a month. I started off with the world phone, great, under you go under water with it, and now use the 90s Nokia. I've never text messaged in my life. I send them on the commuter

Glad i didn't sign up with them after hearing what is being said.

I had Verizon, then the war started. I call the FCC and made a complaint. I don't know what the FCC did but I was out of that contract right quick. I think all cell comps are the same.

I hate Verizon and always have...Thank Goodness I do not have to deal with them. They could not get the digital phone service in here quick enough so I did not have to deal with those "people" Only took a couple months after we moved in and it was available and YEAH I was a happy camper *smiles*

I am so so happy I do not have a cell phone. I think one of the big reasons we have so many problems with companies these days, is that Customer Service has really just been reduced to a corporate Slogan and nothing more. Sort of like listening to the endless menu of phone options, on the company answering machine, and then listening to a half an hour message about how important your call is to the company. Ah yes, sure it is.
