alter bridge concert review from 7/12/2008

Went to Dowtown Live Saturday night to see the band Alter Bridge.
I have been a fan since their first album...they have two out. I knew how talented the band was since all of the members are former players in Creed except for lead singer/guitarist Myles Kennedy.
I went to the show with the expectations of being amazed by guitarist Mark Tremonti...and I was but...when Myles Kennedy opened his mouth the voice of GODS came out!!!! This man can sing like no one I've ever heard!! His voice was so pure, powerfull, and unflawed it was mind blowing!!! He has a 4 octave range, can hold notes for 25-30 seconds and can play the guitar dayum good as well!!
I can understand why they are not opening acts for the big headliners. The big boys would be scared to death to have this band open up for them and BLOW them off the stage!!
Their cover of Kashmir would have made Jimmy Paige and Robert Plant stand at attention.
It won't be long before all the big bands of the 70's, 80's, and the few great bands of the 90's won't be around anymore...this band will stand the test of time, and will be around for many years to come.
I can only hope that some of you were there and witnessed musical excellence at it's best!!
