golo handshake
Published Jul. 11, 2008Hope Friday night has been off to a good start for everyone! The end of the day leaves me reflecting about it's events, and the happenings on GOLO today. I want everyone here to know I rarely if ever dig my heels in on GOLO and blog or comment with out regard to how others may feel. I try to keep things neutral on a level playing field. BUT I am very opinionated and compassionate about some topics, and will throw my self into it 100%. I try very hard not to say things out of pure malice (sometimes my tongue slips though) and try to respect all opinions and points of view, BUT sometimes my heart just can not bring itself to sway on something I truly believe in. Here is a small list of my compassions and topics I am a FIRM believer in.
1. DO not mess with my child in any way shape or form. DO not do harm to ANY kid, period.
2. Be a parent.. You had the child, you are responsible for their upbringing, care, feeding them and providing for their needs. NO whining about how you have to pay daycare thanks to YR. You are a parent and choose to work. It is not the schools job to schedule around you.
3. Support our soldiers, their sacrafices are enormous (I am learning just how enormous, as we prepare for my hubby to deploy in 2009).
4. Sex is not something that you should offer up like M&M's to a group of preschoolers. Before you give your self to someone you need to know that you love them, and they love you. NOT the kind of love that you feel after 10 beers at the Longbranch on a Friday night.
5. PARENTS need to educate their kids on heavy topics like sex, alcohol, and rock and roll. (just kidding about the rock and roll). It is not the jobs of public schools to do this. I do not think it is even a church's job. You had a child and you need to be the one that gives "the" talk. NO one else.
6. I love my family, and I am NOT the perfect parent or a perfect person. I admit my flaws like not returning my shopiing carts ALL the time. I do not lie, or even avoid talking about these things. I admit them, and I think there is allot of merit to a person that can admit their flaws. Do not cover mistakes, accept them and learn from them.
