Honestly, I'm not trying to. She can say whatever she wants, and on some level I agree with what she's trying to do. I'm just trying to get her to take a step back and give what she's doing and how she's doing it some thought before she does it. I don't want her to find herself or any of these other folks in hot water they never intended to be in.

What happens if Joe Crazy Person out there reads your blog, decides he has to do something about it and either harms or kills one of these people. Of course you didn't intend for that to happen, but it did nonetheless. At his trial, he testifies that he got the information from your blog, and the person harmed or his/her relatives decide to go after you for damages.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I'm just saying this whole thing needs some serious thought put into it, including finding out how liable you might be, before you go any further with it.

This far, you are failing in that regard. You have two one time offenders posted, neither of whom were convicted of predatory behavior. Their charges are both of the vague "can mean quite a bit different than what the name implies" type. Sexual battery, for example, is the charge typically used to entrap homosexuals by undercover officers. One touch on the weewee, usually invited by the officer, and *bam* the person finds himself facing a charge of sexual battery.
See what I'm trying to tell you? Things are not always what they appear, and you are jumping to some dangerous conclusions.
The registry already has all of this information, and the state is protected from consequences related to posting it. You are not. Why not just create postings directing people to the registry entries and leave it at that?

My point is, what makes this posting of public record taboo?

You can't speak to the accuracy of that statement, and are making an assumption fueled by emotion. If, and I say IF you choose to proceed with this (and I think you shouldn't), you need to leave any and all assumptions like that completely out of the picture. You're walking a dangerous path with regard to how much trouble you can possible find yourself in.

Why is posting public record information NOT ok on this forum? WE can quote rap sheets, talk about alleged crimes, but NOT records of the convicted?
I don't know the law, but it seems straight ahead free speech, well, not even that...just posting the public record.
An error on the registry has been found due to the posting, one that has been reported to the Sheriff's department. That's a good thing to find out and have corrected, isn't it?
