ever thought about totally changing your career or type of work?

Published Jul. 9, 2008

I would love to not be in an office. To set my own hours and make dogs look and smell wonderful. They are so cheerful and to fix them up seems like it would be fun! Okay, it's your turn to step up to the plate: if you were not doing what you are currently doing- what COULD you be doing? (That sounded like a bad riddle...) Be creative!

oh yea.... and I'd love to become a Plastic Surgeon, specializing in Breast Implants!

B..... if you win, I'd be more than happy to share that burden!

My dream job is counting the big lotery winnings that I will likely never ever see. But it's such a nice thought.

I have my own business doing garage door repairs. I have been working for myself going on 9 years now. I went back to school at 40 years old to become a Respiratory Therapist. I tell people that I chose to go back to school for my mid-life crisis instead of buying a shiny new sports car or getting a new wife. It is a lot cheaper and it will keep me out of court. It is one of the few jobs where you get to slit people's throats and you don't have to join the Mafia. The retirement benefits do not include cement shoes and overcoats or sleeping with fish.

OOoooh! FUN topic! :) I'm working on getting out of the office as we speak (and I am the boss and it TOTALLY sucks). We built a photo studio at the house and am going into the business for real. Done it on the side, but mean it now. :) In fact, got my first session appointment today for first weekend of next month. Hehe...and I still need to frame out the doors, windows and put down the floor. :) Woohoo.

Cleo, by any chance were you on morning radio within the last year? I remember hearing someone local on my drive to work that had gone to school and was looking to sing opera. Might have been on Ace & TJ on Bob93.3.

Red Rocker, congrats! :) Let me know how it works out.

Oh, I just thought of another one! I'd like to be a paranormal investigator! LOL!!!!!!!

I'de like to be an at large ambassador with lots of resources.

I think it'd be fun to be a doorman.

I have always wanted to set up a little smokehouse and sell good barbeque to friends and neighbors to make extra money. It is something I love to do but don't have the money to do it. My wife has always wanted me to go on the bbq circuit. She swears I would be able to win.

I used to smoke ribs and pulled pork and take up to the hospital for patients families, nurses and doctors working on Thanksgiving and Christmas. That eas very enjoyable.

Red Rocker- You are living my dream. I always said I would love to do wedding planning/event planning. I love a good party!!!

any kayakers out there?

I'm thinking about trying kayaking for recreation among some other activities. Feeling the need to get outside more and more lately. Any advice from veteran kayakers?
