my wednesday rant
Published Jul. 9, 2008The Fayetteville Observer reported Wednesday a Kansas church plans a "gospel picket" on the death of Army Spc. Megan L. Touma, 23, of Cold Spring, Ky.
The church has organized harassment of mourners at funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, saying war casualties are divine revenge for America tolerating gays and lesbians.
I'm disgusted by this. Megan Touma was someone's baby. Someone's daughter. Hasn't her family gone through enough? Do they really need some a-hole "christian" f heads basically mocking her death? How cruel and unusual can you be? Heartless fiends!
That's all I have to say about that.
So...I play billiards quite often. By quite often I mean every day. But no matter how often I practice...or how many times I go over it...I can't make a straight shot if the cue ball is more than three inches away from the target ball. >:( I am not happy about this. Does ANYONE have any suggestions on how I can improve my straight shot?
The other night I was walking my puppy and she saw a frog. She proceeded to chase the frog and then she trapped in under her paws. I ran to pick her up but I thought she had already killed it. It was laying on it's back not moving. So, I wanted to move it out of the walkway and when I used Penny's poopless poop bag to pick it up it jumped up and hit my arm. I screamed and did the "ewwww dance" around the area I was in. When I realized what I was doing I almost had to smack myself. It was quite comical....after the fact.
There was another story I wanted to tell today...but I do not remember what it was. I'll blog it later I guess. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

You arm needs to work like a pendulum, with out moving sideways. The que should slide with out any horizontal movement (left or right)

Stroke is the most important part, before aim, before anything. You need a consistent stroke; and this is much harder than it sounds.
Keep your shoulder and upper arm as stable as possible and allow your forearm to swing at the elbow. What usually happens is the elbow is allowed to drop at the end of the stroke.
Concentrate on the cue, in fact, consider practicing with just the index and thumb holding the cue. As you go through the motion, examine closely where the cue contacts the ball; the key here is consistency.
Oh, and all you people smirking about now, get your minds out of the gutter!
