Cinelli's at Celebration. mmmmm

BACK YARD BARBECUE on 55 in RTP!!!

Squid's Restaurant, Market and Oyster Bar is delizioso!

The new Thai place on Harrison in Cary is pretty good (Yum Yum Thai, I think it's called).

The Angus Barn is consistently pretty good, especially when you sit in the bar. Much less formal and a lot more fun.

Hmm...

Well, I like Champa at Brier Creek... for sushi AND for Thai.

Ginza in Cary is good for sushi, and for hibachi.

I like Maggianos over at South Point for Italian. (And wow.. Casa Carbone! I haven't been there in years).

Steak... that's more difficult to choose. Ruth's Chris in Cary or Angus Barn.

Even though they're chain restaurants, I do like Bonefish Grill, Carrabbas and Rockfish Grill.

Oh... Azitra! My favorite Indian place!

My vote goes to Piccola Italia! Family-owned and -operated, there are always smiling faces and kind words to greet you. Plenty of great wines compliment the simple but oh-so-tasty entrees.

Italian or Pizza - Amedios

Steak - Angus barn

Barbeque - McCalls (B's if you're in G'ville)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Los Tres Maguyes (hope I spelled that right), in Cary. We have enjoyed their authentic food for more than 15 years now. Yet to have been disappointed!

Brooklyn Brothers in Cary has some pretty darn good Pizza.

My favorite eatery is Apex's Longhorns Steak House in Beaver Commons Shopping Center off Hwy. 55. I have never been in there and left unhappy. The service is excellent and so is the food.

Dos Taquitos... Best salsa and Steak Burrito in Triangle area.

Baba Ghannouj

Durham: Rue Cler, Piedmonte, Parizade, Mag Grill, Blu Seafood Chapel Hill: Crook's, Squids, Elaines's on Franklin, Crossroads at Carolina Inn, Lantern, Akai Hana Raleigh: Vivace, Capital City Chophouse, Sullivans, Glenwood Grill, Bloomsbury Bistro, Lilly's

Apex: Daniels

I'd say Lily's Pizza in Five Points;

Duck & Dumpling on Moore Square...a wonderful Asian bistro...the chef will walk out of the kitchen and check on customers;

Capital City Chophouse...also expensive but worth it!!!;

Irregardless Cafe on Morgan St., Raleigh...menu changes, chef is owner and shops the Farmers Market;

J Betsky's for German...small dining room, awesome beer selection...in Seaboard area of Raleigh.

Griffin's in Youngsville for awesome southern breakfast. I love that place, though don't get there as often as I'd like...

I love the Triangle for food!!! I know there are more places out there...I just can't think of any more....

Azitra is awesome

Any one of our fine selection of Applebees' in North Raleigh, Cary or Apex (:-)

Tacos Mexico

Jimmy V's at Mcgregor Downs Carolina Ale House, JackAstors, in Cary Knightdale Seafood and BBQ on old 64 * ( prob. my favorite ) Macaronni Grill - Cary - Red Hot and Blue - Cary

Carabba's, although a chain, is quite good for Italian. The winner for Italian is Casalingas in Mini City.

Lots of steak, pizza and mexican on this thread. Anyone recommend a consistent, reasonably-priced Chinese? Not this fancy fusion. I worked my way through college in a Chinese restaurant and nothing I've found so far fits my craving.

Angus Barn, great food,,,great service!!!!!!!

I'm sorry, but Ruth's Chris is far superior to any other steakhouse in the Triangle.

If on a budget, Carraba's is very consistent. Their filet is quite flavorful.

P.F Chang's if your in the mood for Chinese. Not exactly in-expensive but very good.

Lots of folks have mentioned Angus Barn for steak.. Never been there and believe me I love me some COW..

I go to The Peddler..been in Oak Park Shopping center since 1972 :) Great Filet and PRIME RIB and wonderful chicken breast too!! Bartender is pretty great with a dirty martini as well. (I have heard not as pricy as Angus barn, either but haven't independently verified.)

Don't want steak? Casa Carbone is just around the corner. NUM!

We have our Christmas party from work at Jimmy V's in Mcgreagor Park and they have the thickest, juiciest, biggest, BEST-tasting ribeyes on the planet earth! Oh what a treat it is for the holidays to go in there and pig out. And their baked potatos are just as good. Unlike any other baked potato I've ever eaten anywhere.

How many more weeks till Christmas? I'm hungry.

I agree with whiskey Casalinga is my favorite

Cleopatra - Sushi- Thai in Cary on Kilmayne Dr - excellent - Sushi and Thai and Japanese choices. The family who runs Sushi- Thai - always provide the tops in service and food quality!

New place (to me) Peak City Grill in downtoan Apex-somewhat unique entree and appetizer and desert chocies-but so far - excellent flavors. Unfortunately, have to put up with piano player - small space - makes it hard to hear each other. But the food is worth it. Small so make reservations on the weekend.

TK Tripp's in Ridgewood in Raleigh - oldie but goodie - always consistently good and reasonable. Their Greens n Grille salad is tops.

Agree with many - Angus Barn, Ruth's Chris (in Cary), and Sullivan's - and surprisingly - Bonefish Grill in Cary - have the best filet mignon steaks anywhere.

Angus Barn has so many other choices, which are all delicious = consisetnely the overall best restaurant locally. (Which is why it is ALWAYS crowded, despite the prices!)

A Taste of Thai on Falls of Neuse Rd. in Raleigh.

Kanki at CV mall in Raleigh.

Cloos' Coney Island in Mission Valley, Raleigh Sushi Thai in Cary Havana Grill in downtown Cary

Chain places don't really do much for me. Too bland, even Ruth's Chris.

Royal India Taste of Thai Bali Hai

Tidbit, try Michael's Seafood in Carolina Beach Road, just over the SnowsCut Bridge. Nothing fried! Kure Beach visitor

I think that Tripps, YES Tripps has better steak than both the Angus Barn and Ruths Chris. Don't believe me? Give it a try. Even if you think the others are better, I would guess you won't be disappointed.

The plus side? You can save yourself about 70 bucks

I love the Homestead Steak House in Timberlake, (Roxboro) NC. Good downhome atmosphere, great salad bar and service is fantastic. Always meet up with people there we haven't seen in awhile. Great place! 5Forks*

Has anyone ever been to Thalia? what is it like - my brother is always trying to get me to try Indian food - yuck? one day he is probably goign to force me into LOL!

Never mind - figured it out all by myself. :)

Danny's BBQ in Cary. Super good!

Los Tres in Cary or Morrisville for Mexican

Guarino's in Cary was the best Italian until it closed, but Piccola Italia in Cameron Village is a close 2nd

Ole Time Barbecue for the pig

Domo Sushi in Cary for Sushi, they have a conveyor belt that runs when it is busy. Great sushi

well, of course i would send them to c&h cafeteria! there is one in durham and one opening in raleigh in the coming weeks. chcafeterias.com :)
