reduced speed
Published Jul. 6, 2008I was watching news 14 tonight and caught part of a story. From the way i understand it they are in the process of enforcing the speed cap that was put in place a while ago. This will drop all speed limits to 55 mph. From what i herd it is supposed to help conserve gas with prices being so high. I really don't think that it would be done to help with gas but to help the state generate more revenue. Because you all know as well as i do that even at 65- 70 mph there's a large portion of people on the road who have a hard time staying at those speeds.
So the question is help conserve gas or another way for the state of North Carolina to get more people into court and get that bit of extra money

Yeah, nothing like a revolution that starts by restricting freedom, comrade.

Last time I had mine out, it had 100 pounds of peanuts in it (for the birds), a stop at PetsMart to get food for the pets, groceries from the grocery store and last but not least, a stop at the local Wild Birds Unlimited to pick up mealworms for the bluebirds and others that are raising babies around the area.
So while it may appear that we are just driving around by ourselves, some of us do make good use of the hauling capacity in the ones we have. I also make sure I combine all of my errands and do them all at one time. I don't just make a quick run anywhere, I always make sure I have more than one place I "need" to go before I ever leave home.

found this...hey, if it will save me 30 cents a gallon, and lower the price of gas as well, and save lives, I'm willing and will support it.
I can tell you from pulling my big trailer that wind resistance really starts big time at 45mph...bit if everyone else is doing 75, I can't go 45. Well, that's hard anyway.
