all i can say is wow! i am a big fan of tasty sauces and marinades, and i prefer to make my own. i have a lot of secret recipes that i have created for various purposes (one of the few things of value that i learned how to do from my father). however, i have to say that i tried something new tonight that blew me away. i went over to a friend's house tonight for a cookout, and his wife is from upstate new york. she has been bragging about this stuff for weeks, and she finally came through and cooked some chicken with it. it's called chiavetta's barbeque marinade. they marinaded the chicken ovenight in it, and then brushed it on as the chicken was cooking. it had to be some of the best chicken i have ever had in my life. it has a spicy cider vinegar sort of flavor, and i recommend trying it if you are into that type of thing. i'm going to order some for myself because, after tonight, i have to have it again!

Two of my favorites are 'George's Hot Sauce ( Vinegar based)" and ( Tongue Tinglin Sauce ) both made in NC.
I have found if you take the chicken about 1/2 done and steam it in the oven over some of the sauce it does penetrate the meat better. Then return it to the grill and finish it with your final sauce.
Slick Rick........ did they cook that chicken in the oven or on the grill ???? Where can you find Chiavetta's? I try all types of sauces and make my own also..... I have realized if you find a good sauce or combinations it is less expensive than making it......... Let me know. Thanks.
