leaving cary asap!!
Published Jul. 3, 2008Ok, let me just say that the town of Cary is rediculous! A sitauation happened at my apartment on the 21st with my relative and a significant other, (not mine of course) where there was a lot of screaming going on between the two and a potential physical altercation. Well, me being who I am, decided the best thing to do would be to separate them all together as one of them, the one related to me, is a hard headed, person with enough attitude for all of us combined, the other is fairly laid back with no issues with me. Well, the were separated, one was in one of my bathrooms cleaning up a bloody busted lip, the other was locked outside my apartment screaming that the cops were going to get called if the other individual didn't leave now with them and that I was choosing this person not related to me over my relative...which wasn't true, I was trying to be the peace maker. Needless to say, my three year old was in her room when they came back in the apartment screaming and of course, came out in curiosity. She saw my relative throw a phone at the non relative, the significant other, and of course, started crying. I kept telling my relative to calm down to stop screaming that I would let her back in the apartment after she calmed down...too late. My neighbors called the cops. They came, took my name, my baby's name and ended up taking one of the parties involved downtown. Well, a few days later Child protective services are at my door to meet with me, my child, her father (who wasn't even there), the two idiots who started this mess, my mother, two friends not related, do a house inspection, background check on me, and check my baby's medical records. Keep in mind, I wasn't even involved with the problem, I was the buffer!
My point is, isn't this some kind of a violation of something to dig so deep to find absolutely nothing? Especially when the cops themselves said that they feel that nothing is wrong in my home and that I did the right thing by separating the two, and the social worker said he couldn't find anything wrong with us. Why can't he just make a recommendation to an upper to let the case be closed?
I am so angry...I have nothing at all on my record, not even a ticket of any sort...
Just bad credit...

mmania-I agree with most of your post but you can't blame the neighbors for being concerned if they knew a child was in there. it sounds like the person outside was nuts and the neighbors didn't know what was going on inside. The police handled it and the neighbors were looking out for each other. I also realize the stereotype of cary residents is 'nosy yankees' so I understand your viewpoint.

You should have know there would be "some" that are going to ASSUME you're a bad parent. Those are the ones who probably don't have children and think they would be perfectat it if they were. I'm not a bit surprised this happened especially in Cary. Too bad you couldn't have gotten it all cleared up before some nosy neighbor stuck their nose in. I would think it's more routine than anything.
We can't get the probation people to work in Durham, but the Cary Child Protective services don't have much else to do with all the perfect parents in Cary. Good Luck to you.

You said you seperated them before it got physical but one had a busted lip? I'm sure (or i hope) you figured out that the person you put outside isn't stable enough to be around children. If that person carries on like that and throws a phone in front of a 3 year old they wouldn't be allowed back in my house, even if the person was a parent, sibling, or anything to me. I hope it works out for you!
