who does this dude want to win the presidential campaign?
Published Jun. 25, 2008If this dude could vote, who do you think he would vote for president? This is a serious question. Who ever he does not want to win will get my vote. We are still at war folks. Even if we pull out of Iraq we are still at war with these animals.

I'm no politician, but I think the system is failing because we aren't using it correctly, not because there is something wrong with the system. (I certainly don't mean to say that it is perfect. Nothing is perfect.)
Anyhow, that is all :)

People are generally more free with the money of others then their own money. Perhaps if we used our own money, we would make better, more economical decisions.

That's just it though, we don't. NC is a net recipient of federal dollars. We get back more than we pay in.

Listen, I think that people are brilliant creatures. We in NC can figure out what is best for NC, better then someone in AZ. If we don't give our money to their programs and use it for our own, we have more incentive to come up with things that are economically and socially beneficial for us.
Millions of federal dollars are wasted annually on programs that don't work. Why keep wasting them?

like Pell grants, and community policing funding, and highway funding, and matching grants for transit systems, and so on and so on and so on. Following your logic, those and a host of other beneficial things that are basically paid for in NC with money that comes from other states would then have to be funded locally. The highway funding alone would add a billion dollars to the amount that has to be found locally (i.e. from your pocket.)
Sound like a winner?

That only depends on if I think that we should continue all the useless programs the federal government has started.

We devoted almost 80 years to trying to make it work, and the outcome was a fractured union and eventually a civil war. I'm just not seeing how round two would be an improvement.
But agreed. We'll just disagree and leave it at that.
