big texan steak ranch...

OMG what a great group of people...Friendly and ready and will to help!!!

I was just curious if anyone has ever been there??? It is in Amarillo, Texas. My Brother told me about it a few months ago. I know I am not up for the challenge..but some attempt to it.

I have been to Big Texan many times, and stayed at the motel there. It is surprising to see some of the people whom they list as eating this 72 oz. steak with trimmings.... a 120 lb grandmother, a former major league pitcher who ate the meal in 13 minutes (I don't believe a dog could eat it that fast,) a professional wrestler who ate TWO! Regardless, they have great steaks. PS The Country Squire in Kenansville has had this same offer for years. Roman Gabriel, at his prime, could not eat it. LOL!!!

Thats 9 - 8 oz steaks with a baked potato and salad.... for $75.00 Not a bad deal if you couldn't finish it at the table. Plenty for the 'doggy bag' or the next two meals......

Lolly...I am glad you have such faith in me on this but even I know even putting my mind to this No Way...I have trouble eating 10 oz *LOL*

'Cattleman's Steak House' in Durham has a 72 ounce monster steak challenge as well. You have one hour to eat everything (all the steak, a baked potato, salad and all the soft drink you want). Rules are simple: Once you start, you can NOT leave the table. If you can get it all down, it's free.

If you can't, it's gonna cost you menu price ($75).

There ya go, Squirrel. You up for it?

Not me Lolly...you have to attempted to eat the specially cut 72-oz. top sirloin steak, a baked potato, salad, dinner roll and shrimp cocktail. I have a hard enough time after a salad *LOL*
