rose colored glasses wearing jeff gordon fans........
Published Jun. 16, 2008Irritate the living hell out of me! I copied and pasted the below statement from www.jeffgordon.com , a site I have to PAY to post on. I'm the kind of person that calls em like I see em. When Jeff does good I say he does good. When Jeff sucks I say he sucks, it's that simple! The dude that posted the statement did not bash anyone, just stated his opinion. Everything he said is true. The rose colored glasses wearing fans got all their panties in a wad. They seem to be happy with an 18th place finish? They can find all kinds of good things to sugar coat a DNF. Jeff and his team can do no wrong. My big ole butt! I'm so sick and tired of all the political correctness BS in this world! I say what's on my mind and if people like it that's fine. If they don't that's fine as well. Does anyone besides me get irritated with the rose colored wearing glasses people of the world? This message brought to you in part from your friend at "yes Jeff Gordon is having a bad season but I'm not afraid to say so." Ok, I feel better now. LOL
"Well, I have tried to be fair and patient but after today's race I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that a change needs to be made.
1. You have a problem when week-after-week Jeff continues to start a race and then almost immediately starts being passed by other cars and can never seem to be able to pass other cars for the remainder of the race..
2. You have a problem when the TV commentators even start questioning the pit strategy used during the race.
3. You have a problem when Jeff is racing other drivers like Michael Waltrip and A.J. Allmendinger.
4. You have a problem when Jeff is gaining spots in the Race to the Chase mostly through problems of other drivers.
5. You have a problem when week-after-week Jeff is forced to resort to fuel strategy to even have a chance for a decent finish in a race.
Therefore, I believe that a change in crew chief should be made at the earliest point in time in hopes of salvaging the 2008 season before it is too late."

I didn't like Jeff Gordon (might have something to do with me being a Dale Sr. fan) for a longtime. My dislike was mainly directed at his fans. Most were "bandwagoners" and didn't know anything about NASCAR or racing.
It's strange that Jeff is having such a tough time getting on track this year. Such is the sport. There's still plenty of racing left this season. I wouldn't count him out just yet.

It feels like it is, but I think it's more because of that one last beer I drank last night. LOL
