The forbidden "N" word

Saturday I went to grab a quick bite to eat and decided- what the heck, I am already here- so I will just eat here. I sat down and started in on my lunch. A few minutes later I was graced by 4 young black males who sat in the table next to mine. Now I understand kids will be kids- I was one once to. So the baggy clothes, sunglasses, and "Mr.T" starter kit they wore did not bother me.

As I sat there looking over a paper another customer had left I could not help but hear my 4 new neighbors as they talked about several different things. From "hitting" a young girl named "Latonya" to getting high the night before. But the one thing that amazed me was the use of the "N" word they threw around so often. Between that and them calling each other B*tch's, I must have counted the N word at least upwards of 30 times.

My question is - why if this word is so offensive to black people do they use it so often? Maybe it's a age thing- maybe it's the class of people using it-- I dont know. I do know however that if I used it ----ever---- I will more than likely get shanked or "beatin down"- or worse called a racsit. Why do they choose to use it then?

BTW- this is not a racist blog- so RAYNDA dont start bashing all the blacks- its a simple observation and question why young black males use this very confrontational word. thats all...
