random speculation on my way to the office
Published June 8, 2008Views: 42
I had to run in to the office this afternoon for drop off and pick up some material. En route, I had a random thought about the upcoming election.
As I've said before, I think McCain will win in a popular vote landslide. Obama will undoubtedly pick up a few states, but his base will mainly be the democrat left.
As the elction gets closer, conservatives could start looking at the polls and begining to get nervous. If McCain wins by a landslide, his nutty ideas like amnesty for illegals, his $45 TRILLION big government cap-and-trade deal, etc. etc. all get rammed through on his "mandate". So, come election day, we all decide to vote Obama to try to make it closer.
Could we end up with a Truman vs. Dewey scenario that puts the next Jimmy Carter in office?
(Yes, these are the things I think about during my "down" time.)
ANother random thought: If McCain put Duncan Hunter on the ticket or abandoned his "pro-life" stance (which he will almost certainly do between the convention and the general), would he put California in play?

Oh, I still think he will pick Crist of FL. I didn't know that was his CURRENT position on abortion which kind of bolsters my point. He was pro-life not that long ago.
Good god. Two worthless scumbags for president. Yikes, we are scrweeeeeewed.

The black racial vote will go 96% for Obama and white racial vote will be 8% against Obama, if that can be measured. Obama has clearly got the racial edge.
However, over 90% of blacks would vote for any Democrat running anyway, which makes the racial divide about even. Then, the majority of redneck white racists (my guess) don't and haven't ever voted.
So, who gets out theIR vote is going to do best.
McCain can be voted for by most of the centralist voters of either party. Remember he could have been a VP for Kerry.
Obama will fight McCain maturity of experience and age with an attack on his "hotheadedness."
McCain must find some issue with Obama to create a stir that brings out his voters.
Obama will bring up the reverse psychology of "Racists won't vote for a black man" to gain votes. McCain will answer with Obama whining due to youthful inexperience.
One is too old, one too young. One too aggressive, one too passive, one too
