Save the Gasoline
If you want to save gas then here are some tips:
1. Easy does it. Rapid acceleration hurry up and stop will kill mileage. Believe it or not these habits can cost you 33% (road speeds) or 5% ‘round town.
2. The speed limit is there for a reason. If you will obey the limit, you might just save the equivalent of $.20 per gallon.
3. Don’t carry a load. For every 100 lbs. Of extra weight you will reduce mileage app. 2%.
4. Don’t idle. That gives you 0 miles per gallon.
5. Use cruise control rather than “foot feed.”
6. Cars have overdrive gears for a reason. Use it!
Driving 100 miles at 60 mph and driving 100 miles at 70 mph will save you about 1.5 gallons of gas.
It’s much like dieting. It takes a lifestyle change to get the job done.

We have a Toyota Highlander Hybrid that seems to work very nicely but it was a bit pricey and probably, overall, not worth the additional cost. The trick, I think is going to be to sell it just BEFORE the battery fails ....
