We are heading to Sanibel soon for a family vacation.  I'm so excited!  Has anyone been there?  What's there to do?

The nice thing about Sanubel is there is little to do on the island. IT's relaxation heaven. Cross back over the bridge into Ft Meyers and there is loads of fun stuff- pier, restarants etc. But Sanibel is very calming and beautiful. Enjoy every last minute of it!!!

Go and eat at the rainbow room...... if nothing else for their deserts - If there is two of you - you only need 1 serving. Good food also.

Head towards Naples and go to the dog track!! If you are in Ft Myers/Cape Coral you can take a day trip to Key West- Express To Key West is a boat that leaves every morning and comes back every night to Key West- if you have never been to Key West- GREAT way to take it in, the water gets bluer and bluer as you get closer. They have a bar on the boat and serve ya breakfast. It's after season in Key West, so shouldn't be as expensive to visit. If you DO go to KW- take the Conch Train- it leaves from the dock where the boat comes in- good overview of the island and history.

Lacy - you might be right. I'm too laxzy to look it up, but I do remember how to drive from Sanibel to Captiva...

You can always come to Kenly~~~ We have a Tobacco Farm LIfe Museum (where 1/2 of Johnston Co. has done Community Service). Very memorial place. LOL

Sanibel is a great place. My Aunt got married there my senior year of high school. It is a very relaxing place to have a vacation.
