sin taxes to fund teacher raises, money for mental health
Published May 29, 2008Views: 93
I do not live in N.C., but this is not fair to all of the other State employees. I have noticed for several years the St. Gov has favored the teachers when time comes for a raise. Why are they so bias? A lot of the regular State employees works just as if not harder than the teachers, but, the teachers makes more than the others. ALL State employees should be treated equal, with no favoritism. Bottom line.

I for one back the teacher's raises -- they need more money for the hard work that they do. But I also back raises for our other state employees, many of who work just as hard and face the same personal issues as teachers.
To fund that, I would first hire McKinsey & Company or a similar corporate efficiency company to come in and objectively point out the gross bureaucratic inefficiencies in our government. Using that report I would trim the fat and then take the savings and give our state workers the money that they need and deserve.
