Well as I was commenting on oldrebel's blog pertaining to Jesse Helms, Uncle Paul came to mind and I mentioned that Jesse, along with Uncle Paul and of course wrestling, were staples of the history of WRAL. I remember them all quite well: as a child I spent alot of time with my grandparents in the summer, and after school til Mom could get home from work. Every time I got to watch Uncle Paul I was smack in front of that old black & white set. And when it came time to march with Uncle Paul, I was up and at 'em with the kids on the screen. And the happiness I had when one school year our class got to go to the Uncle Paul show and be on the show!
Kids these days would most likely look at Uncle Paul with an odd expression-he was not anything like the things they look to see on TV today. But that's okay by me-cuz I loved me some Uncle Paul!!!
