how much would you pay?
Published May. 20, 2008To have your photos scanned, retouched, and edited and then put on a disk or DVD?
I am currently doing this for a lady, and I have no idea how much to charge her! I am not really worried about it this time, but I am trying to come up with a set price list of how much I want to charge. This is something I enjoy doing, and its very time consuming and people either don't have the know-how or equipment or time to do it themselves, so I would like to be a extra money maker for me, know what I mean?
I am like 50 cent per photo with simple edits, 75 cents if I have to edit them more. Ten bucks for a CD, 5 bucks each extra CD. Is this reasonable?

I would think that you would figure your cost either by the cd or by the picture (of course the customer's attitude can play a part in that price too).
For sort of a comparison, I called around looking for someone to convert albums to mp3's and burn them to disc. He charged by the cd. His cost was $10 for 1 cd, for 3 or more it was $7 per cd. Figuring you can usually get 2 albums to a disc, that was a great deal. I do know the work that goes into doing that and I would not do it for that price.
I know in web design, the price is set per page. Then it depends on what is put on the page as to what the individual page charge is. So a more detailed page with lots of scripts and coding would cost more than a page with just a lot of text and a few photos.
