911 caller: 'i think this baby's dead'

A 911 call released Friday reveals a neighbor trying to perform CPR on an unconscious toddler. The man said to be the 2-year-old's mother's boyfriend is charged with murder.

 

Another baby is dead.  So many GOLO posters are saying don't jump to conclusions.  The fact is that many of these children are killed by the mother's boyfriend(I am a male).  Often times it's not even the child's father.  I believe it all comes down to the breakdown of morals and values in our society.  We no longer value a two parent household.  We no longer value fidelity.  Violence on TV and in movies has lessened our value of life itself.  We have become a society that values what WE want....what makes US happy.  When you have a child the focus is no longer about YOU, it is about your child.  It's time for people to stop being so self-centered and to start thinking of how their actions will affect their children.  BTW,  I do NOT advocate staying in a household where there is physical violence or substance abuse.   Let the flames begin.

americans as a society do not care for their kids...look at the number of working mothers...paying big bucks for daycare...i dont get that...by the time you pay daycare....clothing....gas...car maintance..how much do you really make? simply look at the current social services appoarch..they try to reunite the families regardless...this means kids get locked into foster care for years...as they try to rehab crack heads. kids today...sit in front of video games as parents sit on the computer. if you go to a little league game...you will see the physical....softness of kids today. No muscle...no concept of how to run....the simply skills you should get from just being outside. why do kids need any of the following: wi fis, play station, cell phones, the list goes on and on...go look at your kids room...and all the stuff....what is really needed? manners o please...it takes time and effort to be a good parent....doesnt take swat to be a bad parent.

Amen proud, another child is dead. It's truly unbelievable. Children are a gift from God, raising them and loving them is a sacred trust. It saddens me so to hear stories like this.

I do not know enough about it to say anything, I will NOT stereotype anyone due to the actions of their gender or race. Everyone is their own person, and responsible for their own actions.

I totally agree with your posting Proud. We have, as a society, lowered our standards and set the bar too low morally speaking. I don't advocate staying in failed relationships, however, they should not be viewed as easy to relinquish either. And if you are a single parent, please consider putting your "family" first and not your own needs. It's a package deal and should be viewed as much. Set positive examples for your children. This mother may have been a great mother who made a poor choice. But when a child dies in the process, you need to step up to the plate and be accountable for your own decisions. I know this mother is going to need prayers for she will spend a lifetime with regrets. It won't be easy knowing her moment of happiness cost the life of her child.

I think WE as a society have a problem with bringing children into the world regardless of whether we can take care of them or not. We have no limits on our rights to procreate, yet many don't want to take responsibility for their choices to reproduce.

I agree! One thing I have always wondered, where are the "Mothers" when these things happen? Is it now acceptabel to leave your child with someone you are just "dating"? I cant imagine as a male (me) even baby sitting someone elses child. If it was expected of me to baby sit her children that would be the part where we parted ways.
