Make or break week for three people. Who will survive and who will not.

Little David:

  • And So It Goes - Billy Joel. Excellent choice. Monsterous performance. Perfect vocal control. Finally showed some power in his pipes instead of wimp-central.
  • With You - Chris Brown. You've got to be kidding me? There's something about the whitest teen in America singing that song that just didn't cut it at all. Boo? Ha!
  • Longer - Dan Fogelburg. Junked it up with completely unnecessary runs. Missed the key change. Timing was off. He holds notes too long many times. Beyond that, it was sappy coming out of a teenager. It's an older song for older emotions.

Syesha:

  • If I Ain't Got You - Alecia Keyes. Strange vocal timing, but hit it with perfect pitch.  Very hard song to sing and she pulled it off. Not stunningly, but good enough.
  • Fever - Peggy Lee. If that song is sung properly, every guy listening to it should be in heat. I was in the mood to dig out a hangnail or floss my teeth after hearing her version. Technically good vocals, but just didn't hit the sexy needed for that song to be memorable.
  • Hit Me Up - Rianna. Different song. Same deal. She just doesn't come off as a party girl and after than I really had no desire to hang out with her on Key Biscayne all night long. Boring.

David Cook:

  • First Time I Ever Saw Your Face - Roberta Flack. So I'm thinking, this is really gonna be a joke. But then he opened his mouth. WOW! Fantastic arrangement. Stunning power vocals. He felt the song.
  • Dare You To Move - Switchfoot. Crap, Typical teenage schlock that would be performed by a five piece group with an untalented front man at a local Battle of the Bands.
  • I Don't Want To Miss A Thing - Arrowsmith. I will always connect that song to the signature scene in Armaggedon. And I will always compare any version to Steven Tyler. David Cook is no Steven Tyler. Not even close. No. No. No. Missed it big time.

So who goes?  Or rather, who stays?

On pure vocal potential - Syesha. On commercial appeal - David Cook. On flash-in-the-pan, let's make some quick money - Little David.

I would toss Little David and have a head-to-head between Syesha and David Cook for the finals. But that's not gonna happen. Syesha goes. Unfortunately.

bones, I don't lose any sleep over it or anything. But it is fun!

Syesha should have gone before Carly

Just give Syesha and lil David the boot tonight and get it over with. Donald Trump should come on stage and fire them both

I see David A. going home. I'm still a firm believer the counts are fixed and David A. has absolutely no stage presence and performs like someone from Frank Sinatra's generation. Idol will not make any money off of him in the long run. And in the end, it's all about the cash.

Syesha is good all around but not great. I like her voice and she is the best performer, but David Cs vocal sound blows her away. I thought her performances last night were a bit cheesy and took away from her singing. I do think she has a great upside and with some coaching can go far. Cook should be the winner without a doubt.

David A. needs to go. I slightly disagree with Steve. That Chris Brown song didn't stink because Archuleta is the whitest teen, it stunk because he is the oldest and dryest teen. I cant even really call him a teen. He is a boring, conservative 50 yr old man in a teenage body. No stage presence, no dancing ability, nothing "POP" about him. Oh, and what is up with him always wearing that Members Only jacket on stage. Dude, the 70s are over.

David A. has an alright voice, but he sounds exactly the same no matter what song he's singing. There's no variation whatsoever and it bores me to tears. Syesha has great talent, but not the fan base. David C. is by far the one with the most pure talent overall. I think his voice is better than anyone expected, it's awesome and his arrangements are amazing. He won't win, it'll be little David Boring, which may be a blessing in disguise for David C. I cringe to think what kind of songs his contractural agreements would make him sing.

I think that after Chris Daughtry got the boot last year that the rockers are making their showing this year. That is what makes me frustrated with the show. In my opinion Daughtry should have one last year, and has 10 times the talent of anyone this year. David A looks like Clay Aiken trying to dance. I think his fan base would be about the same. To begin with it would be teen agers and old ladies. After the teenagers figure out (and or David figures out) that he plays for the other team, you are left with an old lady fan base. I can see the size 20 granny panties being hurled on the stage now!

yall take this real serious dont ya?

Everyone had hit and misses, and at this point it's who has the biggest fan base. I don't think syesha has the following, but she should do fine after it's all over.
