If you ever want to ROTFL, you need to talk to GOLO member, Dontjudgeme. I was able to chat with DJM last week and decided that I just have to meet him some day. He was pure joy. Here’s what he had to say:

Angela: What’s the story behind your screen name?

DJM: I started reading comments first and then decided to join. I figured I wanted civil debate.

Angela: So are you keeping it civil?

DJM: I try to. I think I do most of the time but it’s GOLO. It’s not a big deal. I know who to be civil with, and who to be uncivil with.

Angela: Like who?

DJM: Anybody who attacks personally.

Angela: Why don’t you list your favorites on your profile page?

DJM: I went in there last week and noticed that. It’s just because I wanted to keep it simple. But, I will make that a New Year’s resolution for this summer.

Angela: I’m going to check back at the end of August.

DJM: Put me down for that. If not I’ll be back as “dontjudgeme2.”

Angela: Why do so many people like you on GOLO?

DJM: That’s a good question.  It’s because they don’t know me personally.

Angela: So what are you like in real life?

DJM: Exactly the same. I joke all the time. I try to be taken seriously but I like to have fun. I like to make people smile.

I just want to have fun. It’s a release from a day at work.

Angela: What are you doing right now?

DJM: Sitting in my car outside the office. There are only four of us and I didn’t think they’d like to hear my conversation.

Angela: What will you be doing ten years from now?

DJM: Sitting in my car outside the office. (We laugh)

Angela: You won’t be talking to me, though!

DJM: I hope not. I may have to go to “GOLO Anonymous.”

Angela: What do you think your co-workers say about you behind your back?

DJM: Hmmmm… (stops to think) “What a goofball!”

(More laughter.) That’s what my five-year-old daughter says.

Angela: She calls you a goofball?

DJM: Yes. She thinks I should be more serious, but that’s what my wife is for.

Angela: When do you get serious?

DJM: When there’s anything that has to do with my family. But I try to stay light. I’m in sales so I try to be light.

Angela: Are you a good salesman?

DJM: I like to think so.

Angela: Do you think you could sell Mary Kay products, successfully?

DJM: I don’t think so. Don’t think I’d look good in a pink Cadillac.

Angela: I read in your blog today that you’re holding auditions for friends. What’s the criteria again?

DJM: If I see things get boring I put something in to stir it up. It’s all in fun.

Angela: You’ve got three hours to live, what do you do?

DJM: Get off GOLO.

(Wild laughter from us both)

And that’s gonna take an hour, so I really have two hours left.

(Still laughing)

Angela: Dare I ask what you do in the other two?

DJM: Spend it with my wife and kids.

Angela: Whew, I was a little worried about your priorities there.

DJM: (Laughs)

Angela: What’s the most challenging or toughest decision you’ve ever had to make?

DJM: Moving my family down from Virginia to North Carolina to start a new job.

Angela: Why was it so tough?

DJM: Uprooting us from our entire families and we’d never even been down here. We just heard we’d like it.

That was three years ago…

Angela: Are you here to stay?

DJM: Yes we are. We know its home.

Angela: Who are your GOLO favorites?

DJM: Definitely Geisha, Southernlady, Grogers who is now Tarhell Army Mom. People are gonna kill me because I can’t list them all.

People are fun on GOLO. Let’s see…Yogi, jackadoo, of course Kracker, I mean Kracka….and Sessy.

Gafan keeps me on my toes.

Angela: Yeah. Me too.

DJM: (laughs)

Angela: What will they write on your tombstone?

DJM: Hmmm…(pauses to think)

Is it a GOLO tombstone?

Angela: We haven’t started manufacturing those, so probably not.

DJM: “Here lies a man who had fun!”

Angela: And it has been quite fun talking to you.

DJM: You too.
