what would you do???
Published May. 12, 2008I received this email from one of our neighbors..
Your driveway is frequently empty. Park your car in it and be a better neighbor than parking at the end of my driveway.. I need frequent access out for health issues Barbara H.
I could write a response, but I might get "slightly" sarcastic so I need some Golo advice. We live in a cul-de-sac and have a single driveway. All of the areas not taken by a driveway in our circle have a mailbox. Because I leave in the morning before my boyfriend, I park my car behind his truck in our driveway. If I happen to get home before my bf and if the mail has not come, I will park my car on the straight portion of the road (can't block the mailbox or the mailman gets pissy). Most often I am able to park in front of our mailbox. Barbara's house is across from where I will park if I can't park in the driveway or in front of the mailbox. She has plenty of room to get her car out. So I want to keep parking across from her house out of spite. What should I do?
My car is parked by her driveway maybe 2-3 times a month at the most.
Do I respond to the email? Talk to her in person? Or keep parking my car on the street?

Let him nail one of them. It would be their fault for blocking a driveway, which is an infraction.

Just my two cents, but if you're parked in the street and you have a perfectly good driveway with space for your car, you have no right to complain when others ask you to move.
