losing civil liberties?

I often hear liberals raling on how the Bush policies related to War on Terrorism are stripping us of our civil liberties. I'm usually skeptical when it comes to liberal whining but can anyone list a few civil liberties that we have lost. No hypotheticals, specifics please.

I cannot believe this is coming from Americans. I have missed many posts...(I was comment 5&6) but we CANNOT give away our God given rights so our govt. can run rampant!!! This CANNOT happen...the blood of our ForeFathers are crying for us to stand up for our God given rights. OK, thats all I will say about it, but my God, please realize what American heros have fought and died for when you think these things.

I checked back in also and it was a big disappointment to see what this discussion had degraded into. This is an important issue but both sides' extremists seem to resort to this type of thing all too quickly. Unfortunately that doesn't help us get back to where we need to be as far as our freedoms are concerned. It's really a shame that we can't all get together, have a discussion, and realize that everybody, on both sides, have been losing freedoms in this country for 100 years or so now. And these are the types of mentalities which have gotten us here...
Going back out to work in the yard some more...

LOL, how many times have you been kicked off of here now? Eventually it'll become a case of them just deleting your account when it gets created, and you're just helping us build a case for that.

And this has happened to you, how many times? Anybody else on Golo have a secret court serve papers on them due to the Patriot Act? I do agree the government is reducing our rights more and more. We are losing the right to work hard and keep what we earned, we are losing the right to drive on our streets without foreign, illegal aliens drinking and killing us. We are losing the right to decide where our children can go to school, we may soon lose the right to not have health insurance or the choice of who we want it with. So, unless you have a habit of talking to questionable characters in terrorist suspected countries the Patriot Act doesn't have much to do with you and I'll stand with you, to protect the disapering rights, that are really being t
