To the editor:
I am a sophomore at Granville Central High School in Stem, and this summer 10 of my fellow classmates and I are embarking on an extraordinary endeavor.
The goal is to promote voter turnout in the 2008 presidential election, which we will accomplish through somewhat unorthodox means. We are driving through the continental 48 states and registering people to vote, as well as receiving pledges that they will follow through.
Our adventure gets its name, Run to Vote 2008, from the fact that someone on our running team will run a quarter mile for each person that pledges.
We would appreciate any help that can be offered, whether through publicity or monetary assistance. More information is available at our Web site www.runtovote.com Please help us to spread the word by encouraging people to look into our Web site.
