my mother's day
Published May. 11, 2008
My day began by sleeping in late (8:30). This was a HUGE treat for me as I'm normally up at 5:45 am to get my kids to school.
My husband has been working extremely hard and he felt bad that he had not bought me anything. I told him that I don't need anything from the store. Knowing how hard he works to support us is a gift all by itself.
My son tried to cook breakfast for me, but we didn't have eggs (his specialty). Instead, he did yard work and helped in the house. No questions asked, no fussing. If he saw me getting ready to work on something, he took over so I could rest.
My daughter made a book of poems for me. It's several pages of poems and illustrations. There are limericks, cinquains, haiku, dream and "5 W" poems. I didn't know she knew all of these different poems. I'll share a couple of her poems. I'm very impressed. She's only in 3rd grade.
"In My Dreams"
I saw a little baby bear cub
In my dream.
And I held it.
"I Made A Mistake"
I went to school to learn science.
I made a mistake and bought an appliance.
