Treating breast cancer is an ordeal causing some women to undergo radiation, chemotherapy and a mastectomy. When it is time for breast reconstruction, women want something as close as possible to what they had.

My Aunt had this done about 12 years ago and is doing great. At least it was something like this where they take muscles or something from the stomach area and move them up I think? No idea what it looks like under her clothes but she looks fine and is healthy. That is what matters!

So, Pike are you saying they use belly fat to make new breasts?

I think I would prefer the implants too. BUt, breasts are suppose to be fat tissue.

Sometimes I think a woman looses her life to this disease because the thought of loosing a breast is not an option for them. So many have to go through all the chemo and etc because they will not choose the radical. If a breast has not metastasized you can remove the breast and stop any chances of cancer returning. Many women choose to keep their breasts and then loose the battle with the disease. When my doctor told me of my options, I said without a second thought-- Remove the body part then we know it can't come back because there will be nothing for it to come back to. Every time I see my breast gone on me in the mirror, I celebrate that I chose the option I did. I can honestly say goodby cancer........

I have a friend who had this done a years ago in Virginia.I don't understand this being considered a new development. Warning! The breast DO NOT even remotely appear real unless you think breast are suppose to lie flat,appear dimpled as fat does.They do not have any firmness AT ALL. Women who are thinking of getting this done,I suggest to you what I would do...Breast Implants.This would clearly NOT be an option after what I have seen!Not for me anyway.
