workin' on the night shift
Published May. 8, 2008I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL!
Working nights, as I have been doing for a little over a month now, means that I get to see her for a grand total of about 6 hours a week (between naps on the weekends). I swear she changes (both physically and verbally) every time I see her.
I’m a dad who’s used to waking her up, getting her dressed, putting her in mommy’s car in the morning, bear hugging her the moment I get in from work in the afternoon, playing on the floor (much to my knees’ discomfort), reading books, giving baths (mommy gets tooth brushing), laying on the couch to wind down, and putting to bed nightly.
I can’t stand being away from my women.
Wow, reading that over, I gotta sound like a pansy! Oh well…
…and try as I might, I can’t get a pic to post tonite, maybe next time…
I know that there are many, many people who have children and work odd hours. How do they make it work?
