Help---Ladyblue just set her head on fire.  I have done about the dumbest thing I think I've done in my 60 years of life.  I went to light a cigarette and I bend my head down (no more).   Yep you guessed it. The lighter was on high and the fire went into the front of my hair hanging and now I'm bald right in the front of my had.  I've never seen fire like that in hair I thought it just sizzled but no--It does cause a flame.  Other than that I'm having a  wonderful day.  Anyone out there done anything this dumb to themselves yet?"

 

Just name me Miss doubtfire......LOL  I    got to find a hair cutter now......

I just came back and you folks have cracked me up. Doesn't it kinds get your goat that something is so powerful over us that we can't wait to get home to smoke. Lordy mercy. I do not smoke in my car anymore/ That is something I can say I learned the hard way too. After running off road and running into ditch so wrecker had to get me out (car was ok just a steep ditch) I quit smoking in car if I'm driving. If on a trip I will go to a rest stop. I took my eyes off the road a second in a curve while looking for my lighter on seat. Luckily no one was coming. This was back in the late 70's.

cartman I app reciate your comment. I really do but it's like this. you are not a golo member and I don't leave comments up on non members. That's a previlege we have on golo and I think if you want to comment on Golo blogs you need to join golo. Even if you were praisng me I'd still delete you. No offense. no one saw me trying not to catch on fire, but after it was over I realized how funny it was.I went in to work and told everyone in the shop what happened - they were all crying/laughing

I had a moment like MoJo a few weeks ago. I was pulling into a parking space and flipped my cigarette into the air. All I saw was it flipping over and over in front of my face. I stopped half way into the parking space and was looking everywhere for it but could not find it. I pulled the rest of the way in and got out and looked all under the seat, beside the seat, in the back seat and under the back seat...still could not find it. I was starting to panic! I could not just go in and leave a burning cigarette in my car that was less that a month old. I finally found it between the steering wheel and the speed odometer just sitting there fire up and not burning anything. I really lucked out except for the two guys sitting two cars down from me about to wet their pants. Why is there always someone watching when you do something special?

Too bad we dont catch these things on video! j/k I'm sorry about your incident...

One time, my husband put a bag of Chick-fil-a biscuits in the microwave to warm them, forgetting about the foil wrappers. The whole bag caught on fire after only 2 seconds! Luckily, he threw the burning bag in the sink and ran water over it! Sometimes you can still smell that awful smell in the microwave...

I bet you had some hairspray in it didn't you? It probably would have just sizzled and gone out without spray, but hairspray really is like lighter fluid, even hours after applying it. Could have been worse. My neice backed up a little too far during her wedding ceremony and set her veil on fire from the candle behind her. She did not even realize it at first---then her father rushed up to put it out and practically scared her to death. Personally I would have taken it as a "sign from God." And sure enough, that marriage ended in divorce.

Last week I came back to work from lunch. I was sitting in my car and went to light a cigarette.( I still had a napkin in my hand - duh!) the next thing I knew, the napkin was on fire in my hand! I went to juggling this burning napkin, trying to get it out my window without setting myself or my beard/mustache on fire. I dropped the cigarette in my lap during this frenzied attempt to get the napkin out the window and now my crotch is smoldering!. I finally got the thing out the window and the wind blew it under my car! I jumped out wondering how I was going to get this ball of fire out and it blew out the other side still burning. I finally stomped it out! dont feel like the lone ranger lady!
