ahhhh...the joys of springtime!

Published May. 4, 2008

Time sure goes by fast doesn't it? Seems like it's been only a few days since we were wishing for a snowfall that never came, and wrapping gifts in preparation for the holidays. But this morning, the joys of springtime have set in....

Waking up to a cool breeze, just warm enough to be very refreshening.

Seeing the trees all clothed for the summer giving us, and the many critters of wildlife, a place to find shade and serenity.

Listening to the birds talking and singing to one another, filling our ears with their musical magic.

I even saw a brown lizard wearing a racing stripe roaming the yard a few minutes ago, in search for an easy meal, or maybe just getting a little exercise from a long winter underground in hibernation.

And the squirrels have gone nuts in the trees out back, wagging their tails as to welcome the warmth and sunshine that the day is offering us all.

And the breeze is causing the trees to both wave at us and clap their hands in honor of springtime's arrival. Happy they are!!

The ground has come alive again... the flowers are blooming, the grass is growing, and the sleepy bugs have awaken at last!

The lakes are getting busy and the life underneath their surfaces are busy as can be. Like the spawning fish, the awakening turtles, the clams, the dragonflies...all have began to enjoy another season of fun and play.

The earth is on it's way to yield us all the food each and every living creature desires, just as God planned.

My favorite about spring....waking up early on a cool morning (having the day to myself), with coffee in hand, and enjoying all the entertainment that Mother Nature bestows upon us through her members of the wildlife that she nutures so very well. The birds agree...I can hear them singing with joy this very moment.

I have to agree Made!!! Though I do love the Winter months...Spring with all the trees in bloom, watching my flowers grow, fruits grow, and garden...birds eating off their little bird feeder...and the squirrels trying to figure out "how do I get in this fenced area without the dogs seeing me...NOPE retreat :)

Pleaaaaase no drought so soon from the last one!!!!!

Made, that was a beautiful blog!!

next up ....a summer of drought

Ginger? I will have to find out about this. We had a morning glory vine take over the back deck last year. It was pretty, but I didn't realize it would take over so quick.

I love the fragrance of honeysuckle, but I don't like the way it takes over (like kudzu). I toured Tryon Palace and enjoyed walking through the garden. I saw a flower that smelled just like honeysuckle, but wasn't a roaming vine. Turns out it was ginger. I'll be planting that at the new house!!

Rocknhorse has the honeysuckles, I don't. I have wild rasberry, thorneberry, blackberry, I don't know what they are called. But the are all around us. Then there are this things that look like little white roses on some thorny bushes. They don't look like the pink rock roses I am use to. But they all smell good.

the picture on my blog is a pic of our thornless rasberry

They smell so GOOD!!!!! I wish I had some grow here nearby.

Wonder...honeysuckles are my favorite nose-pleasing smell of springtime! Such a great scent they give out.
