five to go
Published Apr. 30, 2008As soon as the credits started rolling, Val looks at me and says, "suckiest group of suck-bunch ever." So we know how she feels. I differ somewhat, but not very far.
Jason was pathetic. He could have done so much with either song, but just let both of the die on the vine.
David Cook, though I didn't personally like his presentation, was brilliant with both songs, either of which could hit the top five on the charts.
Brooke. Ah Brooke. First one was embarrassing. Second one was boring, but at least well sung.
Little David managed to utterly butcher two of my favorite songs. At least he didn't lick his lips this week.
Syesha. First tune fair to middling. Second tune could have been brilliant if she had some more power to her voice. But it's just too weak. Good performance, though.
Bottom two: Jason and Little David
Gone: Jason

Jason has to go, but that's been the case for weeks. His only salvation is that the older teenage girls appear to find him cute. Really, there can be no other explaination. He lacks talent.
Paula, what the H*ll was that last night? Mandatory drug testing for all contestants and hosts.
It was a most unusual night.

ummm, he's never been in the bottom three. I guarantee you he has a huge teen following.

I thought Syesha's first song was fantastic. I still do not understand why she doesn't get more compliments. She has been consistent and sung well every single week.
I agree with tarheelalum about David Archuleta. He's clearly in the top 2 of the season vocally. I just love the tone of his voice and his runs. Now what he does with his right hand while he's singing is a different story. That is more distracting to me than closing his eyes.
