steve crisp: blog steve crisp's blog
this does require a response
Published Apr. 27, 2008This morning, Strawberry posted a blog wondering if animals go to heaven when they die. I responded with the following:
The Bible contains several references to animals being in heaven, most notably the passage describing where lions will lie down with lambs. There is also the inference of all the animals being part of God's creation offering up songs of worship at His glory. Then the passage where God looks after even the least of His creation like the birds.
By inference, one can presume that there were no animals in heaven initially since God created them here and gave Adam the task of naming them. As such, unless God decided to create animals in heaven as well, it would seem that the only way they would get there is upon their death here on earth.
But that leads us to also conclude that there will be a ton of ticks, spiders, ants, and other what are now nasties crawling around under our feet for all eternity. Or perhaps only animals which have some sort of cognitive reasoning like mammals, birds, fish, and some of the more interesting insects will go there.
Strawberry responded with:
Steve, your first two paragraphs made me feel so much better! Especially, that very first sentence. I'm so relieved to know this information.
As for your last paragraph..........go to the bathroom and sit a while!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know I'm picking with ya!
Bones then later interjects with the statement that I am wrong about the Bible stating that lions lie down with lambs and that gets into a further discussion of the matter between her and myself. it was actually rather interesting. But it had nothing to do with the original discussion of which Strawberry inquired about. Such is the life of blogs. And perhaps I am missing something, but I fail to see just how a digression from one subject to a related subject that I did not even initiate could indicate that I harbor animosity towards Strawberry or Honey in any form. Nor do I see how my initial answer demeaned her or Honey in any way.
But it seems I have a stalker in the form of studly who is spending inordinate amounts of time trying to flame me for some bizarre reason. He responded to Strawberry on her profile with:
I'm sorry that some people are inconsiderate uncaring twits. Ignore steve... Let him sit and wallow in his own self pity, you LOVED Honey and that seems to be a concept he cannot grasp. All animals have souls for the bible TELLS me so, however, I don't need the word of a book to tell me this, it is within my core beliefs. The bond between and owner and pet is one of the STRONGEST love bonds there is... God is love, and loves all his creations, WHY must a person demean the value of the loved ones of another to boost his own self-esteem...
Just ignore him as he is far less than human.
Perhaps someone could tell me just how stud's response has any bearing on the exchange between Strawberry and myself?
See, this is what I have been putting up with out of him for the past week. And I have sat in absolute silence as he has done it until today. Nothing but lies, distortions, utter falsehoods, intentional misinterpretations, and inane drivel. He's all over other people's blogs and profiles doing everything he can to twist everything I say, and acribing things to me that would not even cross my mind. He denies it, of course, but here is but one clear example of what he does regularly.

"I am going to have to retract from your blog, Steve is far to o obnoxious for me... He disgusts me to no end, and he has ONE more time to call me an 'ignorant git' before I do something very unpleasant."
Now just how am I supposed to take that? There is absolutely nothing he can do to me or anyone else here on GOLO, so I have to infer that he intends to bring it out into the real world. I believe that in some legal circles that is known as a threat.
Again, just some things I have been tolerating over the past week.
