fuel tracker...impressive!
Published Apr. 27, 2008If you haven't already, I recommend you take a look at WRAL's fuel tracker chart. It's loaded with lots of information for saving money on your fuel expenses by listing the least expensive places to fill up (with maps) to the MPG your vehicle (or your next vehicle) will get. It details the price per gallon, and you can even tell it what locations to zoom in on. Very nice tool Angela!
Here's the link - and it's now listed in my favorite's folder for future easy access....

The following link is a story currently in the news today. It's about inaccurate gas pumps that may be robbing us of our money when we fill up. I know of one station in Apex that is guilty of cheating their customers by their pumps hesitating pumping the gas as the unit starts running up the tab beforehand for about 2 seconds. I intend to go there soon and see just how much those two seconds are costing each customer. I'll let you know when I find out..but not before I let the station hear about it first. Maybe we need to start a list of where these cheating gas pumps are located. That could prompt the gas station owners to fix them quickly. If you find one, let us know.
Here's the story's link...

Sometimes, the pump will stop you like 2¢ less than what you paid for.

I've heard about those inaccurate gas pumps and have wondered, many times when I fill up, if that silly thing is right!
In some parts of California, gas is already $5.00 a gallon!! Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

In Florida, Tampa, I filled up my Expedition with 30 gallons. It wouldn't hold but 27 after running out. I should have reported that. I didn't.

Why is WAL-MART not listed? Why isn't Sheetz listed? Wal-mart's listed, or posted price is always as low as anyone's elses, and then with the 3 cent discount per gallon, is usually the lowest around. Why not list that?
IF everyone will go to the lowest priced gas, it will make a diffence. Don't go buy gas at the usual place if it is higher. Don't wait until you are about to run out to buy.
I know, I go to the higher, but not crowded pumps and think, "it's just a quarter more on the tank to avoid the line" and pump.
Most of us have NO alternative but to drive.
