twilighter at the cave
Published Apr. 25, 2008
Place: the Cave. Time: Thursday night. Late.
Twilighter is always a pleasure to watch. And, of course, to listen to. I really dig the drone of Tony's Moog (not to mention his crazed guitar) combined with Sonar's harmony, Brandon's early Dylanesque vocals, Josh's consistent bass, Dave's vicious drums. Last night I realized what I like about them. When they're playing, and this will sound corny, they seem to have lost themselves inside the music. They're having fun, and they bring the entire bar into THEIR space. The last few shows they've been covering an old Hank song, which I really disliked the first time I heard it, but they've altered the rhythm slightly and now it seems natural. A country twang suits Brandon's voice surprisingly well.
The Cave is a good venue for Twilighter; their sound truly fills up the space. But tonight they'll be at Hell. 10:30ish. Go.
