question for tmedlin...
Published Apr. 24, 2008 Saw a piece on WRAL evening news about Sudancan. NCS students are raising awareness about the genocide in the African country of Sudan with a free concert at Reynolds Coliseum on Saturday, April 26 at 6 pm.
Junior swimmer and SAAC Vice-President Kathryn Pegg has spearheaded the project for NC State with the help of fellow student-athletes, including Andre Brown (football), Brandon Costner men’s basketball and SAAC President Ronnie Bouemboue (men’s soccer).
“This just goes to show that NC State student-athletes can make a difference in this community,” added Pegg. “We want people to come out and learn about what is happening in Darfur.”
Donations will be taken for UNICEF, the international relief organization. In addition, t-shirts will be given away with a $5.00 donation. So far they have raised about $1500…as Pegg puts it “a dollar can go a long way in Darfur.”
My question is for Tmedlin. Would you consider these young folks MITs (moonbats-in-training). After all, they are politically active for a peaceful cause that doesn’t involve anti-abortion, anti-gay, or support for the war in Iraq…

Steve, The US got its behind kicked when Clinton sent troops into neighboring Somalia. That being said, Sudan has oil and sales are increasing with the completion of the pipeline to the coast. Sudan has tried overthrowing Chad, too. But it is China and India that hold sway over the Arabic/Islamic government in Khartoum. I don't see the US kicking out China and India.
Just look at the Sudan and you will see what sadly could come to a divided America of the future.

The situation in the Sudan is not going to change at all simply because a few college student -- or 10 million college students -- want it to change. If anything, it will only get worse as relief organizations start pouring money into the region, money that will be confiscated by the ruling muslums and used to by more arms.
The UN has been absolutely powerless to do anything, primarily because they are completely impotent to start with. Diplomatic efforts are merely laughed at.
The only solution to the problem is massive military intervention and the extermination of the muslums who are slaughtering the indigenous population, themselves not very innocent in the whole matter.
But we just can't do that anymore because these leftist freaks simply don't understand that sometimes you just have to go in and wipe out a city or two in order to gain lasting peace.
